PFO

The E.C. Goodwin Technical High School Parent Faculty Organization’s main goal is to facilitate communication and involvement between parents, the school faculty, and student body to provide a positive learning experience for your son or daughter. The PFO is an organization whose membership includes all parents, legal guardians and faculty at E C Goodwin Technical High School.  Being a member of the PFO gives you an opportunity to meet other parents and faculty, to voice your concern, get information and offer ideas to support the school.

A significant component of the high school experience is extracurricular and other activities that enhance or complement the students’ academic experience. We need parents to suggest activities they feel would be beneficial for students and assist in planning them. If you are aware of a program or activity that could benefit our students, such as a community group that would run a program at E. C. Goodwin or a business that might somehow assist the students or PFO, please let us know.

As a group of dedicated parents, we raise money for our students by organizing various fundraisers. The monies raised are used for scholarships for our students, to support Skills USA, technical programs and student activities. The school store has been a primary fundraiser for the PFO in past years and we are always looking for volunteers to help at lunch time or after school for 1 hour, once a week or once a month.

We understand that most parents work and have other commitments that make it difficult to visit the school on a regular basis or even attend a PFO meeting. However, we believe that all PFO parents are concerned about the quality of their children’s high school experience and will find some time in their schedule to help us out even if it’s only at one event. We sincerely hope that each parent who has joined the PFO will be able to contribute at least a few hours of their time before the end of this school year.
